ARTERIAL LOWER LIMB ECHODOPPLER (ED MI)
A lower extremity Doppler ultrasound is a medical imaging procedure used to assess blood flow in the blood vessels of the legs, including arteries and veins.
During a lower extremity Doppler ultrasound, a medical technician will use an ultrasound probe to produce real-time images of the blood vessels in your legs.
These images allow doctors to detect any narrowing, blockage, or other abnormalities in the blood vessels, which can be a sign of vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), stenosis of the arteries, or deep vein thrombosis (blood clots forming in the deep veins of the legs).
Lower extremity Doppler ultrasound is non-invasive, meaning it doesn't require incisions or the introduction of instruments into your body, and it's usually quick and painless.
This is an important procedure for assessing the health of your blood vessels and identifying any potential problems that could be affecting blood flow to your legs.
